Save Ricky!

Premise

While on the hunt for a sweet treat, Ricky the baby racoon finds himself climbing in through the window of an old apartment building. When the window slams shut behind him, it scares the living soul out of him! Ricky unlocks astral projection and must use this, along with his incredible platforming abilities, to find his way through 4 perilous levels -- performing parkour, solving puzzles, and trying not to get spotted by residents. Master these skills and you might just be able to Save Ricky!

Description

Save Ricky! is a side-scrolling puzzle-platformer game created by Ben Lu, Chentille Wong, Jacquelin Han, Jasmine Mann, Hannah Gulka, and Ted Lee. It is programmed entirely in C++/OpenGL, including a custom game engine complete with mesh-based collisions, basic physics, and dynamic lighting, as well as visual assets hand-drawn by ourselves. Our main inspirations for this project were Celeste (for the platformer controls and movement) and Six Cats Under (for the ghost-object interaction mechanism).
